Rhonda’s Story

We were drowning.

We have always been the type of people to take care of ourselves. We never ask for help. We always work through our problems. When our little one was diagnosed with cancer, we found out that our insurance didn’t quite cover as much as we though it did. Pretty soon, we had a stack of bills on the table and no way to pay them.

My girlfriend had been volunteering at Bridge [Utah], and told me about it. I was skeptical and thought it sounded like we would be imposing, but she insisted I come and at least volunteer. I couldn’t believe how good the food was. Yes, it needed to be prepared quickly, not sit in the refrigerator for two weeks, but it was good.

I took home a bag of potatoes, some other veggies, lunchmeat, and bread. It made a dent in our budget, so I did it again. I went twice each week. Once, to help out, and once to get some grocery items to take home. It made a big difference. Thank you so much, Bridge. You helped our family in ways you can’t imagine. Well, maybe you can, but THANK YOU!
